In short
- Non-exclusive. You can release elsewhere too.
- You keep ownership of your music, artwork and artist name.
- Every plan delivers to the same stores. Free keeps 80% of royalties (Subelo keeps 20%). Solo, Plus and Label keep 100%.
- A person reviews every release, and Jose approves each one by hand before it goes to stores.
- No stolen content, no AI voice clones of real artists, no fake streams.
- Store terms apply. You can take a release down any time.
01Who this is between
This agreement is between you (the artist, band or label that owns the account) and Subelo Distro. It applies to every release you submit through Subelo. Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply.
02What you let us do (non-exclusive)
For each release you submit and we approve, you give Subelo a non-exclusive license to copy, deliver, sell, stream and make available your recordings, artwork, artist names and release details, and to pass them to our delivery partners and the stores you select, only so they can be distributed and promoted in stores.
- Non-exclusive means you are free to work with other distributors, labels or platforms. Please don't send the same recording to the same store through two distributors, because stores treat that as a duplicate and may remove both.
- The license covers the stores you choose and, on Free and Solo, the whole world. Plus and Label can limit territories.
- The license lasts while the release is live and ends for a release once it is taken down from stores (stores may take some time to finish removing it).
03You keep your rights
You keep ownership of your recordings (masters), your songs (compositions), your artwork and your artist name. Subelo does not take any copyright or ownership.
On Free and Solo, Subelo assigns the UPC and ISRC codes and stores show “Subelo Distro” as the label, including on the © and ℗ lines. That is a delivery credit only and does not transfer your ownership. On Plus and Label you can use your own label name, your own UPC/ISRC codes and your own © and ℗ holders.
04What you promise
- You own or control all rights needed to distribute every part of the release: the recording, the song, any samples or beats, the artwork, and any names, photos or voices in it.
- Credits, royalty splits and collaborator details are correct and agreed with the people involved.
- Titles, artist names, genres, language, explicit flags and lyrics are accurate.
- You answer the AI questions in the release form honestly (AI-made cover, AI-generated audio, AI-assisted credits). Stores receive these answers.
05Content rules
We don't accept, and may remove at any time:
- Stolen or re-uploaded content: music, artwork or videos that belong to someone else, including uncleared samples, beats you haven't licensed, and other people's releases.
- AI voice clones or imitations of real artists or people without their permission, and anything presented as being by an artist it isn't.
- Misleading releases: fake artist names, titles or artwork made to look like another artist, or keyword-stuffed titles.
- Fake streams: buying plays or using bots or streaming farms.
- Content that is illegal, hateful or breaks the rules of the stores we deliver to.
Music made with the help of AI tools must be disclosed in the release form.
06Human review of every release
Every release on every plan is checked by a person before it reaches stores:
- Automatic checks run while you upload (audio format, cover size, required details).
- Our review desk checks the intake, the metadata and the rights.
- Jose, who runs Subelo, approves each release by hand before we deliver it to stores.
We may ask you to change something (we tell you exactly what), or decline a release that breaks these rules or store rules. Label releases get priority review. Typical review and delivery time:
Stores decide whether, when and how they publish a release, and may remove it under their own rules.
07Royalties
| Plan | You keep | Subelo keeps |
|---|---|---|
| Subelo Free | 80% | 20% |
| Subelo Solo | 100% | 0% |
| Subelo Plus | 100% | 0% |
| Subelo Label | 100% | 0% |
- The percentage applies to the royalties Subelo receives for your releases.
- You can split royalties with collaborators on every plan. How split payments are sent:
- Payout method, schedule and minimum:
- Label includes quarterly royalty statements per artist. Taxes and tax forms:
- If a store reverses royalties (for example for fake streams) or a rights claim is made, we may hold or deduct the affected royalties.
08Store terms apply
We deliver to the stores listed on our Stores page. Each store's own terms and content policies apply to your releases. Stores set their own rates, rules and publishing decisions, and can change them. We pass on their decisions but don't control them.
09Takedowns
- You can take a release down at any time. Ask through support and we will send the takedown to the stores. Removal time depends on each store.
- We may take a release down if it breaks these rules or store rules, if we receive a credible rights claim, or if the law requires it. Where we can, we will tell you first and explain why.
- Free: releases are never taken down for non-payment. The Free limit is 20 releases or 40 tracks.
- If a paid plan ends: your account moves to Free and releases within the Free limits stay live. For releases beyond that, renew or add Keep Forever ($24 single / $39 album, one time).
